
Anna M. Barnes

Anna started playing the piano at the age of 4, and studied at the Royal Conservatory of Music (Toronto), with exceptional pianist and educator Tanya Tkachenko. She obtained her ARCT (Performer) Diploma with First Class Honours, and went on to graduate from the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Music with a Bachelor of Music Education Degree. She is an experienced piano teacher, specializing in RCM training and exam preparation. She has been involved with many choral groups as well, including the University of Toronto’s Women’s Chorus, along with various musical theatre productions throughout York Region. Anna’s teaching practice includes exceptional achievements by her students at Kiwanis music festivals and RCM examinations, along with various arts and music scholarships.
In addition, Anna also graduated with a Bachelor of Education, and is an Ontario Certified teacher, with many years of experience teaching students of all ages. She has a sound understanding of child development, effective pedagogical practices and exceptional teaching and learning strategies. Anna brings her passion for learning and love of the arts to all of her students along their musical journey.
