
Emilio Lam
B.A. (Violin | Viola)

Emilio Maolana began studying the violin and viola at the age of eight under the Hong Kong Music Office, where he was mentored by Mr. Cheung King-shiu, Ms. Feng Lu, and Dr. Kam Ho-pang. In 2014, he graduated from the Education University of Hong Kong, earning a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Creative Arts and Culture - Music.
Following his undergraduate studies, Emilio moved to the United States to further his training in music performance. Under the tutelage of Mr. Jason Uyeyama, Dr. Dean Anderson, and Mr. Juan-Miguel Hernandez, he completed his Performance Certificate in Viola at La Sierra University.
Deeply passionate about orchestral and chamber music, Emilio has performed as a violist with the Dana Point Symphony, Symphony Irvine and the Hong Kong Youth Symphony Orchestra, among others. His musical footprint spans performances across Mainland China, Taiwan, Germany, the United States, and Canada, collaborating with world-renowned musicians.
A highlight of his career came in 2015 when he performed in the premiere of the opera 'Oh My Son' at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, alongside the La Sierra University Orchestra and Symphony Irvine.
In addition to his performing career, Lam is highly dedicated to arts management. He has worked with various non-profit arts organizations, including the Hong Kong International Literary Festival and UNESCO. He is currently working at Naxos Records.
