

Douglas Au (Guitar) Douglas teaches a wide range of musical styles for guitar, bass and keyboard. He has over 20 years experience teaching and performing. Douglas studied the Jazz program at Humber College and the Royal conservatory of Music.

Mike Bodnarczuk (Guitar) Mike studied classical guitar at the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) in Toronto and has been teaching at Pro-Music since the school opened in 1998. He enjoys teaching classical style (nylon string guitar), fingerstyle, acoustic (steel string guitar) and electric guitar to children, teenagers, adults and seniors.
Mike also prepares students for RCM Practical Classical Guitar Examinations and Music Festivals so that they have a thorough understanding of the practical skills and musical knowledge required. Students have obtained or won RCM Silver Medals (Highest standing in Ontario), RCM First Class Honours with Distinction, RCM First Class Honours, First Gold Festival Awards and Scholarships.

Clara Chan B Math, A.R.C.T. (Piano, Theory) Clara holds an ARCT diploma in piano performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music. With her enriched experience and enthusiasm in music teaching in both individual lessons and classroom settings, she does not only prepare students for examinations and competitions. Her manner in conducting piano and theory classes has cultivated students with appreciation and inspiration in music. Clara attends piano pedagogy workshops regularly and has developed a wide range of comprehensive methodology to students. In 2010, she has achieved the Pedagogy Professional Development Summit Certificate. Moreover, Clara enjoys composing and demonstrates a strong fundamental knowledge in music theory. In 2011, she has won a second place of a song writing competition held by the Association of Chinese Evangelical Ministries. In addition to her music career, she actively involves in music ministry serving as a piano accompanist at a local church.

Gordon Chan (Drum) A well-known drummer with over 25 years of performance experience. Gordon has recorded numerous recording with the most popular singers in Hong Kong.

Lauren Chan (Drum) Lauren is a 3rd year York University student, currently pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music with a focus on jazz percussion. As an active musician in the GTA and York Region in a number of different bands of various styles, Lauren is enthusiastically pursuing a career in music as both a teacher and performer. Along with his 7 years of drumming experience, Lauren has studied piano, clarinet, and music theory in the past, starting at the age of 4.
A former student of Pro Music, Lauren aims to provide his students with the same top-quality education and guidance he received from his teachers, so that they too can share his enthusiasm and passion for music.
Sophia Chan M.Sc, A.R.C.T. (Piano) Sophia Chan holds First Class Honours in an A.R.C.T. in Piano Performance and in the A.R.C.T. Teacher's written exam. During her piano studies, she was an award winner in music festivals, including being regional representative at the 1998 O.R.M.T.A. Provincial Competition. Her continued interests in piano music teaching has drawn her to pursue a full-time career not related to, though enriched by, her Hons. B. Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from the University of Toronto. She is now studying for the A.R.C.T. in Piano Pedagogy with Jimmy Chan, and has recently completed the Elementary and Intermediate certificates."

Nancy Cheung B.A.Music, LTCL (Piano) Graduated from the faculty of music, Chinese University of Hong Kong, with first class honor, Nancy is a proficient piano teacher in both Hong Kong and Canada with over 15 years of experience. Many of her students have won competitions in major music festivals like Kiwanis and CMC; and have achieved outstanding results in exams. Nancy believes that music education adds values to one's life and her teaching approach emphasizes the development of self-discipline, the ability to focus, and the appreciation of arts.
In addition to classical music, Nancy is also actively involved in contemporary church music, improvisation and accompaniment.
Ron Cheung M.Mus, B.Mus.Ed (Theory, Voice) Ron graduated from University of Toronto with a Master Degree in Choral Conducting and with a Bachelor Degree in Music Education from McMaster University. He was winner of the Elmer Iseler Conducting Fellowship Award and the Peter Sheehan Memorial Scholarship. Ron is the artistic director and founder of Voices, Healey Willan Singers, and conductor of the Xiao Ping Chorus. From 2001-2005, Ron was also the conductor of the Toronto Mendelssohn Youth Choir. Ron has almost 10 years experience in teaching vocal, theory and history.
Monica Chow B.A., A.Mus. (Theory, RCM Examiner) As an RCM Examiner for both Theory and Piano, Monica Chow holds a Bachelor of Music from McMaster University and Associate Diploma from the Western Ontario Conservatory of Music. Her teachers include Patrick Li, Yvonne Amos and Aasta Levine. She is also a member of the Ontario Music Teachers' Association and the Canadian Federation of Music Teachers' Association.

Corey Fenster (Guitar) Corey began playing guitar at the age of 12 and has only seen his passion to learn, teach, and perform grow stronger ever since. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Music from York University where his Majoring in the study of Jazz Guitar. Corey believes that anyone is capable of learning how to play the guitar, however, it is essential for the student to develop a strong background in theory, in conjunction with a comprehensive understanding of the instrument. This is a major component to his teaching in order for his students to become more aware of what he/she is playing, thus, increasing his/her ability to make connections between what is being read, heard, and played.

Todd Gibbons (Drums) Originally from rural south-western Ontario, Todd graduated from the Percussion Institute of Technology in Los Angeles California with honours and was nominated by his teachers and classmates for the Rock Stylist, Human Relations and Most Improved Student awards.
His ten-year professional career both recording and performing has included television performances with various artists that aired on CBC (television and radio), CTV, City TV, CTS and Vision TV.
Career highlights would include a cross Canada tour with Jimmy Rankin (of the Rankin Family) and subbing for Brian Barlow and Paul De Long during the rehearsals of Broadway’s Hairspray during its recent run in Toronto.
Todd hopes that his students sense his love for the drums and that it inspires expression and greatness in their musical and other life pursuits.

Toby Ho BASc(Guitar) Toby is an active musician with extensive performance and teaching experience. Although he is well versed in many styles of music, his primary influences include modern rock guitar virtuosos (Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, John Petrucci, etc) as well as Jazz/Fusion greats (Mike Stern, Scott Henderson, Lee Ritenour, etc).
While teaching, Toby places emphasis on the listening of music in hopes that the student becomes inspired. It is this inspiration that encourages a student to become self motivated and disciplined to independently practice and enjoy their instrument.
Toby has studied Jazz at Humber College under the tutelage of guitarist Ted Quinlan, Kim Ratcliffe, Andrew Scott, Rob Bulger and Tony Zorzi. Additionally, he studied improvisation under Nancy Walker and Kirk MacDonald.

Gladys Hung (Piano)

Lydia Ip B.Mus.(Piano) Lydia graduated from McMaster University with an Honours Bachelor of Music Degree majoring in History and Theory. She started as an accompanist for her church choir at the young age of 14 and has since been actively participating in church music ministry. She was once a high school music teacher, but with her love of working with children, she developed her profession as a piano teacher and is currently maintaining a home studio for teaching piano and theory. And she has been teaching at Pro-Music since 2006. She is a member of the Ontario Registered Music Teachers' Association and the Ontario Music Educators' Association. Lydia has a special passion for singing, and this has kept her an active participant in the Mass Choir with the Association of Toronto Chinese Evangelical Church Musicians (1992 - present) as well as the Alata Harmonia Chorus.
Sofia Ip B.Mus. (Piano, Music Adventure) Sofia received her Bachelor of Arts, specialized Honors in Music, from York University. She also studied piano pedagogy with Mrs. Marina Geringas at the Royal Conservatory of Music. Miss Ip loves working with children of all ages, and she believes every child is born with his/her talents, and it is the teacher’s job to be able to bring out those talents within. Miss Ip likes to draw inspirations from different methods to make her music lessons interesting and fun for children. She has attended workshops including the Suzuki Piano Method summer program and Mrs. Margaret Huggett’s Orff workshop.

Jasleen Jalbay B.A. (Voice) From a young age of 4, Jasleen has studied in various music schools under
the education discipline of Alexander Technique. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Music, specializing in Vocal Performance, from the University of Waterloo. With the help of private instruction from Stephanie Kramer, Jasleen has improved and managed to find her own sound and tonality with the best tools and techniques to keep perfecting the voice for the future.
She was a member of the New York Choral Society, under the direction of John Daly Goodwin, and also with the New York City Master Chorale, under the direction of Dr. Thea Kano. Jasleen has performed in venues such as Carnegie Hall and The Metropolitan Lincoln Centre. She has worked with opera veterans like Bryn Terfel, Susan Graham, Renee Fleming and vocalists from the New York City Opera. Aside from the Classical world, she also has passion for musical theatre and did various stage work while living in New York City.
Even though she is classically trained, Jasleen enjoys singing and teaching a wide variety of styles and genres, from contemporary, pop/rock, musical theatre, country, R&B.
Jasleen's teaching approach emphasizes on the 3 P's, Practice, Patience, Perseverance. Reaching a student's goal is a team effort. Jasleen love's a fun atmosphere. Learning in a fun environment helps motivate the students to do well. But always remember the 3 P's!!
Basic rudiments that will help the course of voice studies will be implemented, such as ear training, scales, proper intonation and basic sight reading skills. As well as proper breathing techniques, performance techniques and stage presence, voice projection, maintenance and control.

Kate L. Kunkel B.A., A.Mus, DoD(Harp) Kate Kunkel has been playing piano since the age of 4, and received her Associate in Music from the Western Ontario Conservatory of Music. At 14, Kate was already teaching piano in her home town of Tillsonburg, Ontario, and has taught in cities from Los Angeles and Las Vegas to Toronto and now in Markham.
Kate took up the harp in 1992, and soon thereafter began playing professionally in Las Vegas and throughout the Southwest where she entertained and taught for 20 years. Kate is the author of "The Healing Sound of Music" and the creator and host of the "Video Course for Casion Keyboards".
Teaching music is Kate Kunkel's passion. She happily teaches in a graded conservatory style, or in a more exploratory style. She always encourages her students to explore musical styles, and helps them derive the most from their musical education, whether the aim is to perform with a symphony or simply to experience the sheer joy of playing music.
Wayne Lai (Piano) Wayne received his Grade 8 Pianoforte Certificate of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music in Hong Kong. He has been a church pianist for 13 years and he is also currently pianist in a church band. He has lots of experience in contemporary music arrangement and improvisation. He has also won numerous awards in piano competitions.
Wayne enjoys teaching kids and adults, not only to help them reach their academic goals, but also to cultivate their interest in and appreciation for music.

Desmond Lam B.Sc. (Keyboard) Desmond studied classical piano performance with renowned pianist and
critic Jay Zhu. Desmond holds a Bachelor of Computer Science from University of Waterloo, where he also studied music theory,
composition, and choral music. His diverse musical interest results in a proficiency beyond classical into contemporary. Desmond's background
in computer technology blends with his passion in music, of which music score typesetting, MIDI programming and sequencing are some
examples.
Desmond's music experience is diverse: He has conducted interchurch choirs and served as keyboardist and backing vocal in local bands The
New Satellites and The Pelicans. He has played with touring artists such as Heaventunes International. He is actively an accompanist for
RCM examinations, university auditions and competitions, as well as various functions and music classes.
Desmond believes everyone is capable of performing and enjoying music,
although the means and realization vary from person to person. His teaching style focuses on being pragmatic and flexible: aligning to
students' preferences with achievable goals, while expanding their skills and portfolios to adapt to different settings. Theory and
application, playing by ear, and one-man-band/accompaniment will be essentials in students' learning.
Denise Lamarche M Mus (Piano) Denise holds a Bachelor of Music in piano performance "Magna cum laude" from the University of Ottawa. She earned a Master of Music in piano performance "With High Distinction" from Indiana University, where she pursued doctoral studies in piano pedagogy. She taught at Indiana University as an Associate Instructor.
Denise is a dynamic and dedicated teacher with extensive experience in private lessons as well as classroom settings. She is recognized for motivating students, and fostering enthusiasm for learning. She enjoys teaching students of all ages. In the Greater Toronto Area, she has been employed by private and public school boards.
Grace Lau A.R.C.T. (Piano) Grace holds an A.R.C.T. in Piano Teaching and is a member of the ORMTA Brampton Branch. She also studied piano pedagogy with Mrs. Marina Geringas at the Royal Conservatory of Music, and the Orff Method with Mrs. Margaret Huggett. Grace has over 30 years of teaching experience, and her students have always achieved excellent results in examinations and festivals. A loving and patient teacher, she is adored by all her students and their parents.
Simon Lau (Violin)
Melody Law M.Mus, B.Mus, ARCT, LTCL (Theory, RCM Examiner) As a member of College of Examiners of The Royal Conservatory of Music, Ms Law holds an ARCT from the Royal Conservatory of Music, a Master of Music from the Eastman School of Music, a Bachelor of Music from the University of Western Ontario, and a Licentiate Performer's diploma from the Trinity College of Music, London, England. She has studied with well known teachers such as Jean Barr, Ronald Turini and Douglas Humpherys. Melody has performed extensively in Hong Kong, Toronto, Rochester Pennsylvania, Luxemburg, Zurich and Japan.
Davina Lee (Piano, Theory) Davina holds an ARCT in Piano Performance. She also studied piano pedagogy with Mrs. Marina Geringas at the Royal Conservatory of Music, and the Orff Method with Mrs. Margaret Huggett.
Davina is a co-founder of the Music Adventure and Music Essentials programs. She loves teaching children and puts great emphasis in making her lessons fun and enjoyable. She also serves as organist at her local church.
Felicia Leo (Piano) Felicia graduated from Trinity College of London with a Teacher’s Diploma (LTCL) in 1986. She was also trained in Yamaha Music School for junior music course (JMC), specializing in building children interest towards music for ages between 4-6 years old.
Felicia is a dedicated, caring and patient teacher, who is able to motivate children to have interest and have fun in music. She is experienced in preparing students for exam in the Royal Conservatory of Music, Trinity College of London, Royal School of London and AMED Australian Board.
Regine Leung (Piano) Regine is currently working towards her Associate of the Royal Conservatory of Music (ARCT) diploma for Performers. She had won numerous prizes and awards including the Kiwanis Music Festival and the Toronto Music Festival over the years. Serving as an accompanist and a music coordinator at church, Regine's teaching method is creative. Her warmth often motivates students to establish a long-lasting love for music. She is also working towards a second degree in cognitive psychology at the University of Toronto concentrated in human development and memory researches; this allows Regine to focus on the benefit of music learning to the course of young child development. Her students are stimulated to enjoy piano performance and express themselves through the language of music easily.
Marina Leung A.R.C.T. (Piano) Marina holds an ARCT diploma (Performance) in piano. She studied Pedagogy with Mrs. Marina Geringas in the Royal Conservatory of Music. She is also actively involved in the music ministry in her church. Miss Leung has been teaching in Pro-Music Conservatory of Music for over 4 years. She enjoys teaching kids and adult alike and her students range from age 5 to over 50. She not only coaches her students to RCM Examinations, but she also cultivates interest and music appreciation of her students.

Philip Li (Guitar) Philip has acquired decades of experience in various guitar playing styles (acoustic, electric, R & R, R & B, new wave, bass, classical and Flamenco). Philip started teaching since his mid-teens. His playing style can be a mix of all of the above. He is also lead guitarist for a couple of bands in Toronto and performed in functions for renowned organizations like The United Way, Heart and Stroke Foundation and The Canadian Cancer Society.

Jennia Lutov B.Mus. (Piano) Jennia received the Bachelor of Music Degree, majoring in Piano Performance, from the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. She also holds the Diploma of Teacher of Music and Education from Pedagogical College of St. Petersburg, Russia.
Since her arrival in Canada in 2000, she has been teaching piano to students of all grades. Jennia’s students have received First Class Honours marks for their RCM Examinations. Many have been awarded in such competitions as the Markham, the Arts Richmond Hill, Yip’s and Kiwanis.

Marty Namaro (Drums, bass, Jazz Piano, Band/Combo) Marty has many years of private training on piano, theory and harmony, drums, timbales, vibraphone, marimba, and bass (string and electric). He studied privately with pianist/composer Mark Little, Berkeley, Ca. and with drummer/clinician Colin Bailey, Martinez, Ca. He also attended various courses at Los Medanos College, Pittsburg, Ca., Contra Costa College, San Pablo, Ca and Grossmont College, La Mesa, Ca.

Natasha Nedanis ARCT Piano Performance, ARCT Piano Teacher, BFA, BEd Natasha graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music from York University specializing in classical piano. She received her Bachelor of Education in the Concurrent Program. She also completed two ARCT Diplomas in Performance & Teacher with the Royal Conservatory of Music.
Natasha has many years of experience teaching students of all different ages and levels. Her students have been successful at regional competitions, festivals and RCM examinations.
Natasha is also currently an occasional teacher with the York Region School Board. Her teaching background has helped her understand and that all students have the potential to succeed under the direct guidance of a dedicated teacher.
Lilian Ng A.R.C.T. (Piano) Lilian holds an A.R.C.T. Piano Teacher’s diploma from The Royal Conservatory of Music. Under the teaching and influence of Amy Ho and Cindy Lu, Lilian furthers her study in piano pedagogy with Dr. Janet Lopinski and Mrs. Marina Geringas. Lilian strongly believes in instilling students’ enthusiasm and nurturing their creativity and musical talent that lead towards a life-long appreciation and love of music. Lilian has prepared students for RCM Examinations in Piano and Theory with high standings. Aside from her engagement in music teaching, Lilian is also an active accompanist for choirs and instrumental performers, as well as a pianist, worship leader and committee member of the Worship Team in a local church.

Dimitar Pentchev (Piano) Award-winning pianist and composer Dimitar Pentchev has had a successful career in performing, teaching and composing for over 20 years. He graduated from National Music Academy in Sofia, Bulgaria with a degree in Piano Performance and Accompanying and was given a full scholarship to continue his studies for a Master's Degree at the Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.
He continued teaching throughout the years of study and later established a successful piano studio on the Isle of Man in Great Britain.
His main teachers and influences have been Julia Girginova, Anton Dikov, Alfred Mouledous, Carol Leone and Sergey Babayan. He is active also as a concert pianist and has played recital programs in all of continental Europe, as well as UK and USA. He has been an orchestra soloist numerous times.
Mr. Pentchev has had over 20 years experience teaching piano at all levels.

John Poon B.A.(Guitar, Electric Bass, Double Bass) Multi-instrumentalist John began playing the cello at the age of four. In 1995, John studied double bass in York University's Jazz Program where he was awarded the Oscar Peterson Scholarship Award. John has played with some of Toronto's finest musicians including Canadian Jazz Award winner Amanda Martinez, Trumpeter heavyweight Nick Ali, Canadian Fiddle Champion Ben Rutz, Juno Award Winners Mike Murley and Barry Elmes, as well as some of the top players in the R&B scene. In addition to his work locally, John has also played with numerous pop recording artists from East Asia. Outside of playing live shows, John is also active in the studio providing the music and foley for commercial work, as well as producing music for up-and-coming artists in every genre from Pop to Jazz.
Ilia Shekhtihin (Piano) Graduated from the Azerbaijan State Conservatorium of Music with Diploma in Teaching, Chamber Music and Accompaniment as well as Master Degree in Performance.
Ilia Shekhtihin has extensive solo, chamber music and teaching experience in USSR as Senior Lecturer in Azerbaijan State College of Music as well as in Europe, Israel and Canada. His students are the top prizewinners of the Canadian Music Competition (CMC) and pursuing a professional career in music.

Karen Tam B.F.A., A.R.C.T. (Piano) Karen graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Faculty of Music at York University. She studied piano with Christina Petrowska Quilico and music composition with David Mott. Karen also holds an ARCT Diploma in Piano Performance, and studied piano pedagogy at the Royal Conservatory of Music. Her teaching style was greatly influenced by the inspiring and encouraging guidance she received from Marina Geringas. To date, Karen's students have always achieved first class honours in RCM examinations. She has also had students winning awards during various music festival competitions.
Karen is also one of the experienced Music Adventure (group lessons) teachers at Pro Music. She has also taught Music Adventure to junior and senior kindergarten students at Wesley Christian Academy. In addition to her teaching, Karen actively participates in many music workshops, to share ideas and discuss issues relevant to piano pedagogy. The Orff philosophy of music that she studied with Margaret Hugget has effectively enhanced her group lesson and piano teaching by using songs, games, rhythms, poems, stories and percussion instruments. Karen teaching approach emphasizes a balance of affection, patience and strength while encouraging her students to enjoy the process of learning.
Teresa Tang M.Mus., RMT (Piano) Born in Hong Kong, Ms Tang studied piano performance at McGill University earning a Bachelor of Music, and received her Master of Music in Conducting from the University of Toronto. She was a recipient of the Bruno Walter Memorial Foundation Scholarship, Hong Kong Children's Choir Education Scholarship, and two-time recipient of the University of Toronto Scholarship. Ms Tang has over 15 years experience in piano teaching, and is a member of the Ontario Music Teachers' Association and the Canadian Federation of Music Teachers' Association. Prior to her return to Canada in 2007, she held a conducting post with the Hong Kong Children's Choir and guest-conducted the Hong Kong Catholic Diocesan Choir. She has collaborated with Soundstreams Canada (Toronto) and the University of Hong Kong School of Professional and Continuing Education (HK) as a workshop clinician, and was invited by the Pentecostal Lam Hon Kwong School (HK) from 2003 to 2006 to develop a choral education programme to great success.

Bill Wong (Violin, Viola, Cello) Bill received a Bachelor degree in Music Education from the University of Wilfrid Laurier.
He was a member of the St. Catharines Symphony Orchestra, the Niagara Symphony Orchestra, the Shaw Festival Orchestra, the Ukrainian Chamber Orchestra and the Canadian Chinese Chamber Orchestra.
Bill has over twenty years of experience in coaching both children and adults in learning to play the violin, viola and cello. Basic piano techniques are also demonstrated during lessons to provide students with a basic overview of scales, intonation, rudiments and ear trainings.
